September 27, 2003 - Grand Traverse Area Genealogy Society One-Day Seminar

The Grand Traverse Area Genealogy Society (GTAGS) will be hosting a one day seminar featuring Henry Z Jones, Jr. on Saturday, September 27, 2003 in Traverse City, MI. Hank will be making four interesting presentations. This is the only seminar that Hank will be attending in the midwest.

Hank is a Fellow, American Society of Genealogists, and an author of 7 books. He is descended from Abraham Bergman, a 1709 Palatine, who settled in Ireland. He is primarily noted for his Palatine Families of New York-1710 that was published in 1985. This book contains the origins of the 847 Palatine families who settled in New York State in 1709. He followed this book with 2 more books, More Palatine Families and Even More Palatine Families. Another interest of Hanks has been in Serendipity and Intuition and their effect on genealogy. This resulted in 2 books, Psychic Roots: Serendipity & Intuition in Genealogy and More Psychic Roots: Further Adventures in Serendipity & Intuition.

Hank was featured player in many WALT DISNEY films of the 1960s and 1970s. He also had recurring roles on TV shows such as MY THREE SONS and the PATTY DUKE SHOW as well as several other popular TV shows. He has also made many TV commercials and is a long-time song writer and member of ASCAP. He and his wife Bonnie live in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego, CA. They have a daughter, Amanda, now in her early 20s.

The seminar will be held at The Presbyterian Church at 701 Westminster St. in Traverse City, MI from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. The price for persons who register early is $30.00, including lunch.
